Feature · Imports & exports
Bring data in. Take data out. No lock-in.
Start from a file you already have. Sheetlane imports CSV and XLSX, connects directly to Google Sheets, and lets you export anything you build, schemas, prompts, and all.
- CSV and XLSX import with AI-suggested column types
- Google Sheets connector for live data
- Export sheets as CSV at any time
- Re-import to migrate between workspaces
What you can import
- Comma-separated values (.csv)
- Excel workbooks (.xlsx)
- Direct connection to a Google Sheets range
- Pasted tab-separated content (small lists)
Type detection
On import, Sheetlane suggests a type for each column, text, number, date, URL, email, select, based on the values it sees. You can override any suggestion before the sheet is created.
Exports
Every sheet exports to CSV. Use this to migrate work to other tools, hand off to a client, or back up before a destructive change.
Frequently asked questions
Does Sheetlane keep formulas on import?
Sheetlane preserves values from imports. Complex Excel-style formulas may need to be reauthored as Sheetlane formulas or AI columns.
Can I keep my Google Sheet in sync?
The Google Sheets connector brings data into Sheetlane workflows. Specific sync behaviour depends on the integration configuration in your workspace.
