Feature · Row-level automation
Automation that respects the row it ran from
Sheetlane's automation model is row-level on purpose. Each run is tied to a specific row, which means previews, payloads, retries, approvals, and audit logs all live next to the data they came from.
- Every run is attached to a row
- Preview the payload before sending
- Approve, dry-run, or cancel runs from the row
- Inspect status, retries, and history without leaving the sheet
Why row-level matters
Traditional automation builders treat workflows as graphs of nodes. That hides where each run came from. Sheetlane keeps the row as the unit of work, so the people responsible for the row can see exactly what happened.
What you get per row
- Status badge per cell (queued, dry-run, approved, sent, failed)
- Execution drawer with payload, response, retry history
- Approval queue surfacing rows awaiting sign-off
- Idempotency so re-running a row doesn't send twice
Frequently asked questions
Is this just Zapier in a spreadsheet?
It's the other way around. Zapier orchestrates events across apps. Sheetlane orchestrates work across rows. The two are complementary, see our Zapier comparison for fit guidance.
